Everything you need to know about setting up, activating, and getting the most out of your Taggzi.
After receiving your tag, create a free account at taggzi.com and add your pet's details. To link a physical tag, go to My Pets, tap your pet, and choose "Activate Tag". Enter the short ID printed on the back of the tag (this looks like PAW-XXXXX on tags shipped before the rebrand or TAG-XXXXX on new tags β both are accepted everywhere in the system) along with the pairing code included in the box. Your pet profile goes live immediately.
You choose exactly what to display: pet name, photo, description, and any combination of your phone, email, and WhatsApp. Medical info is optional and hidden by default.
No. NFC tags work with any modern smartphone β just tap. The QR code works with any camera app. No app download required for finders.
Free accounts include one pet profile. Upgrade to Pro (Β£2.99/month) to manage up to 5 pets.
Taggzi is expanding across five product lines that share the same tag technology, app, and account:
Taggzi-Pet (live now) β collar and harness tags that route a finder to the pet's profile.
Taggzi-Travel β luggage tags that reunite lost suitcases with their owners.
Taggzi-Active β tags for bikes, kit bags, sports gear, and equipment.
Taggzi-Care β medical alert and carer contact tags for vulnerable people.
Taggzi-Luxe β discreet high-value item tags (jewellery, watches, art).
Only Taggzi-Pet is currently accepting orders. The other four are launching in turn β one account will cover them all.
Yes. Your existing Taggzi login will work across every vertical as it launches. You add items into the account exactly the way you add pets today β each vertical has its own icon and short set of fields.
No. Pro applies to the account, not the vertical. If you're on Pro today, you'll get the higher item allowance in every new vertical as it launches at no extra cost β unless a specific vertical has its own tier (which we would announce in advance).
The Taggzi companion app for iOS and Android is currently in the final stages of app-store review and closed testing. Once it goes live it will let you manage your pets, activate tags, enable Lost Mode, and receive real-time push notifications when your tag is scanned. In the meantime, everything can be done from the website at taggzi.com β the app is not required to use the service.
No. Everything can be managed from the website. The app is optional and, when it launches, will add instant scan notifications and a quick Lost Mode toggle.
Log in to taggzi.com, go to My Pets, open your pet's profile, and click "Activate Tag". Enter the short ID printed on the back of the tag (starts with PAW- on tags shipped before the rebrand or TAG- on new stock β both prefixes are accepted) and the pairing code included in the box. The tag will be linked instantly. Once the companion app is live this can also be done from within the app.
Toggle Lost Mode from your dashboard or app. When active, anyone who scans the tag sees a full-screen emergency alert with your contact details. A community alert email is also sent to Taggzi subscribers in your area.
Go to My Pets in your dashboard or app, find the pet, and toggle Lost Mode off. Their profile returns to normal immediately.
Pro subscribers receive scan notifications by email and push notification (via the app). You can also view scan activity and a location map in your dashboard analytics.
Check our live system status page. It's checked every 5 minutes from outside our own servers, so it keeps working even if taggzi.com doesn't. If everything shows as operational, the problem is most likely with your device or connection: try refreshing, or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If the page itself won't load, use the backup at hi7dev.github.io/taggzi-status-backup.
Ensure the tag is not covered by a thick collar or metal. NFC reads best when the phone's back is flat against the tag for 1-2 seconds. Try the QR code as a backup.
Yes. Taggzi Pro members can swap tags themselves: from the app, go to your pet's profile and tap "Replace Tag". Enter the ID and pairing code of the new tag. Your pet profile and history are preserved β just attach the new tag. Free accounts can order a replacement tag via the website.
From your dashboard, click the QR code icon next to your pet and use the Download PNG button. You can also print a lost pet poster (which includes the QR code) from the "Lost Poster" button.
Yes! From your dashboard, click "Lost Poster" next to any pet. A print-ready A4 poster is generated with your pet's photo, details, QR code, and contact information. Use your browser's Print → Save as PDF.
Every tag has a short ID (starts with PAW- or TAG- β both work). If a finder has a damaged tag or no NFC-capable phone, they can go to taggzi.com/find-pet/ and enter this ID to see your contact details. Enable this from your pet's settings under "Allow ID Lookup".
Click "Upgrade to Pro" from the pricing section of the homepage or from your dashboard. You'll be taken to a secure Stripe checkout.
Go to Account Settings (from your dashboard) and open the Subscription tab. Click "Cancel Subscription" and confirm. Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period β you won't be charged again after that.
You can delete your account yourself from Account Settings → Delete Account. All your personal data is permanently removed. Pet profiles are archived (deactivated); physical tags linked to deleted accounts show a "profile unavailable" message to finders.
All payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. We never see or store your card details.
PawTag is now Taggzi. Same team, same technology, same commitment β expanded to cover more of the things you care about (pets, travel, active gear, care, and luxury items). Read the full rebrand story.
Yes. Every PawTag ever made continues to route to the correct profile at the original URL β nothing to replace. Owners can also log in with the same email address at taggzi.com.
Yes. Pricing has not changed with the rebrand: free forever with basic features, Β£2.99/month for Pro (or Β£24.99/year annual).
Taggzi is currently operated as a UK sole trader while the brand is being established. A UK limited company and registered trademark are being set up shortly β once complete, the Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and GDPR page will be updated with the new company number and registered address. In the meantime you can always reach the person legally responsible for your data at privacy@taggzi.com.
The legal documents that govern your use of Taggzi are linked in the footer of every page:
• Privacy Policy β what data we collect and why.
• Terms of Service β the contract between you and Taggzi.
• GDPR β your rights as an EU/UK data subject and how to exercise them.
Fastest route: Account Settings → Delete Account for permanent deletion, or Account Settings → Export Data for a copy. If you prefer to make a formal GDPR request in writing, email privacy@taggzi.com β we respond within 30 days as required by law.
A short list of trusted sub-processors β payment (Stripe), transactional email (Resend), fulfilment (ShipStation), postcode lookup (Postcodes.io), hosting (20i / StackCP), and push notifications (Apple + Google). Each is bound by a data-processing agreement. The full up-to-date list is on the GDPR page.
No. Taggzi does not sell or rent your personal data to anyone, ever. Data leaves our systems only in the specific, minimum-necessary ways described in the Privacy Policy (e.g. Stripe needs to know who to charge; a finder needs to see the contact method you've chosen to expose on your pet's profile).
Read the full Taggzi User Guide, or get in touch β our team typically responds within one working day.
