Equipment tags that help lost kit get returned

Tools left on a job, team kit left at the pitch, a drone bag left at the park: an equipment tag gives each item a way home. Taggzi equipment tags will use the same NFC + QR technology as Taggzi-Pet, so anyone can tap or scan to contact you, with no app. They’re coming soon as part of Taggzi-Active.

Who it’s for

How it will work

  1. Stick or attach the tag to the item and set up its profile in your Taggzi account.
  2. A finder taps or scans it with any phone. No app needed.
  3. They contact you through the item’s page, without seeing your number unless you choose to show it.

Equipment tags are part of Taggzi-Active, which is planned to include a private serial-number record, lost mode with a reward and printable poster, and (with Taggzi Pro) a stolen mode that shows your police crime reference.

How many items can I tag?

The Free plan covers one profile in total, and one Taggzi Pro plan covers up to 5 profiles across every Taggzi line. If you’d need more than that for a business, club or school, join the waitlist and email support@taggzi.com to tell us what you need.

Equipment tags vs asset-tracking software

Taggzi is a lost-and-found ID, not a stock-control or check-out system. If you need to log who has which tool, asset-management software does that job. Taggzi answers a different question: someone has found this, so how do they get it back to you?

An honest word on theft

An equipment tag marks the item as yours and helps it come back, but it won’t stop a theft and it can’t show where the item is. A thief can remove a tag. Keep a record of serial numbers, mark your tools, keep your insurance up to date, and report thefts to the police.

Built to last

The Taggzi-Pet tag is resin-coated metal and waterproof. The final format of equipment tags isn’t fixed yet. NFC can read less well when a tag sits directly on metal, so on metal tools the printed QR code is the dependable way to scan it.

Questions

Can I tag lots of items?

The Free plan covers one profile and Taggzi Pro covers up to 5 profiles in total. If you need more, join the waitlist and email support@taggzi.com to tell us what you need.

Is there a business plan?

Not yet. If you’d use equipment tags for a business, club or school, join the Taggzi-Active waitlist and tell us what you need at support@taggzi.com.

Does it work on metal tools?

The QR code works on any surface. NFC can be weaker when a tag sits directly on metal, so on metal tools the QR code is the dependable way to scan it.

Is it a tracker?

No. There’s no GPS and no battery. You hear about it when someone scans the tag.

When will equipment tags be available?

There’s no launch date yet. Join the Taggzi-Active waitlist and we’ll email you when it’s available.
