Going Away? Give a Trusted Carer Temporary Access to Your Pet’s Taggzi Profile
The gap between you and your pet’s tag
You’re on holiday. Or working long hours. Or your dog is staying with a sitter for the week. You trust the person looking after them — but what happens if something goes wrong while you’re unreachable? What if your number has changed, or you’re abroad and your UK mobile isn’t connecting?
Taggzi’s Carer Access feature closes that gap. It lets you give a trusted person temporary permission to update your pet’s contact details — without giving them access to your account.
How carer access works
A carer is someone you invite to manage the contact information on your pet’s Taggzi profile for a set period. When they accept the invitation, they can update the phone number, email, and messaging contact that’s shown to anyone who scans your pet’s tag. Your account, photos, and pet details stay completely private.
What a carer can update
- The owner phone number shown on a tag scan
- The owner email address
- The WhatsApp contact number
- Show/hide toggles for each contact method
What only you can change
- Pet name, species, breed, and date of birth
- Photos and Passport details
- Lost mode settings
- Account and subscription details
Scan alerts go to both of you
While carer access is active, any tag scan alert emails go to both you and the carer. If someone finds your pet while you’re away, both of you will know immediately.
Access expires automatically
You set an end date when you send the invitation. When that date arrives, carer access ends automatically — no need to remember to remove it. If plans change, you can end access early at any time from your dashboard.
How to add a carer
- Log in to Taggzi and go to your pet dashboard
- Find the pet you want to assign and click Add a carer
- Enter the carer’s email address and the access end date
- They receive an invitation by email — once accepted, carer access is live
It takes less than a minute to set up, and gives you real peace of mind while you’re away.
